Earthquake Ethel’s Roadhouse – Beaverton, Oregon
Before EDM, before rave culture, there was Earthquake Ethel’s—THE disco destination for Portland’s outer limits in the late ’70s and early ’80s. With thumping bass, flashing lights, and cocktails strong enough to make you dance to “Boogie Oogie Oogie,” Ethel’s was where the ground really shook.
The original spot was in Beaverton, but legend has it satellite Ethels popped up in Portland and even Seattle—each one a glittery fever dream of polyester, smoke machines, and questionable decisions.
Whether you actually went or just want to look like you did, this tee delivers the funked-up energy of a truly seismic night out.
(The shirt is hand-screened in Seattle, Washington on a premium AS Colour “Basic” tee.)
